User Proof of Identity

Cybertrust offers digital certificates for users which act as a digital credential to prove identity when accessing secure information over an SSL connection. User certificates can be used to satisfy requirements for both 2-factor and two-way (mutual) authentication by requiring the user to present a certificate to gain access to your web-based services. This added layer of security can be enabled using your existing web servers without the need for additional hardware or plug-ins.

Secure Messaging

In addition to providing a means of authentication, these certificates may also be used for signing and encrypting email in every major email application using your existing email address.  A digitally signed email message assures the recipient that the email message was really sent by you and not an imposter.  Encrypted email ensures that only your intended recipients can open the mail, protecting its contents and attachment from being viewed by anyone else.

Cybertrust offers two trust levels of individual digital certificates for users:

• SureCredential Personal Certificates are intended for use by individuals and are appropriate for personal correspondence and transactions.

• SureCredential Professional is intended for use in a commercial setting by individuals affiliated with an organization.  Proof of organizational affiliation is verified and both the individual’s name and organization are shown in the contents of the certificate. 

Both the Personal and the Professional SureCredential Certificates can be purchased with 1-, 2-, or 3-year validity.
