Installing Cybertrust SSL Certificates in Microsoft IIS 6:

1. Installing the Cybertrust SureServer CA root certificate in your server
To install the SureServer CA Root into IIS, please proceed as follows:

If you have not already done so, you should download the following file(s):

Cybertrust SureServer SSL certificates issued
after 23 April 2007

Cybertrust hierarchy
 [_] GTE CyberTrust Global  Root
 '-[_] Cybertrust SureServer Standard Validation CA
   '-[ ] (Your SureServer certificate)

Cybertrust SureServer SSL certificates issued
after 23 January 2005

Cybertrust hierarchy
 [_] GTE CyberTrust Global  Root
 '-[_] Cybertrust SureServer CA
   '-[ ] (Your SureServer certificate)

Installation Instructions
Download and install the SureServer CA certificate by double clicking on the corresponding file wizard:

Cybertrust SureServer CA certificate:

Click on "Install Certificate"

Click on "Next"

Select "Place all certificates in the following store" and Click on "Browse"

A new window will pop up

Select "Show physical stores"

Select "Intermediate Certification Authorities" and then "Local Computer"

Click "OK", this window will close and you will see the following screen

Click on "Next"

Click on "Finish"

To conclude:

Install the Cybertrust SureServer CA certificate in the "Intermediate Certification Authorities" store:
"Show physical stores/Intermediate Certification Authorities/Local Computer".

To install your certificate file, follow these steps:

  1. Open Internet Services Manager, or the custom MMC containing the Internet Information Services snap-in.
  2. Expand Internet Information Services (if needed) and browse to the Web site you have a pending certificate request on.
  3. Right-click on the site and then click Properties.
  4. Click the Directory Security tab.
  5. Under the Secure Communications section, click Server Certificate.
  6. On the Web Server Certificate Wizard, click Next.
  7. Choose to Process the Pending Request and Install the Certificate. Click Next.
  8. Type in the location of the certificate response file (you may also browse to the file), and then click Next.
  9. Read the summary screen to be sure that you are processing the correct certificate, and then click Next.
  10. You will see a confirmation screen. After reading this information, click Next.

You now have a secure server certificate installed. You may want to test the Web site to ensure that everything is working correctly. Be sure to use https:// when you test connectivity to the site.
